Hi All,

You can get an English MUI (multi user interface) pack. Once installed, you can change your Vista language over to English. Note that you can't get this for Vista Basic, you'll have to purchase Enterprise or Ultimate because these are the only editions that allow you to install MUI packs.

There are two types of language files - and both are partial but either may be what you're looking for. MUI available only in Vista Ultimate and Enterprise are the most extensive--but LIP are available for any edition of Vista. I'm not sure which Vista you have - but you may want to look into these:

If you have Enterprise or Ultimate you can look into MUI. But even if you

don't, you can download the LIP files, and see if they will do the job for

you. LOL I don't know how fluent you might be in Japanese either.

LIP files can be downloaded from here:

';Because not all of the user interface is translated, LIPs require at least one parent language. The parts of the user interface that are not translated into the LIP language are displayed in the parent language. When you download a LIP, you are given the parent language requirements for that

language. The parent language pack needs to be installed before the LIP can be installed.';

If you do try either of them, let me know how they work for you.

This is a link which can help to change your language: http://www.geekpolice.net/tutorials-guides-f13/how-to-change-computer-s-display-language-t17071.htm

If you bought your pc with the windows version: ';OEM'; it will use only that specific language, no other way. To change the language you have to buy from microsoft the language package it is not for free. Why it is like this : because OEM versions are cheap and only installed the principals the extra's you have to pay more for it. To know about you have the OEM or not: click on the combination buttons: the windows button + break button, all under in the popped up window you find your license number and also see 'OEM'. Then it is not possible to change the language without paying for it.
I thought that was particulary easy to do until now when I actually tried to change my language from English to French.

Looking at the MS website and their documentation on this (I found it for Win 7, but it should work almost in a similar fashion in Vista), you need to install LIP.

For details on it, visit the source I've given you. That LIP will allow you to install additional languages for your computer. I'm headed to get LIP myself. Look at the source, the link is there!
I don't think you can, once you have chosen a language for the computer it is final , the only way would to be reformat and get a new Windows disc
Control Panel (Category View) --%26gt; Date, Time and Regional Options --%26gt; Regional and Language Options. Languages tab, under ';Text services and input languages'; click Details. Change the language from French to English.
